As well as classical guitars I make many other types, including flamenco, requinto, multi-string, steel string 'acoustic' guitars, archtop Jazz, as well as historic reconstructions. Instruments for Sale

I do have some guitars in stock for sale: some new, some pre-owned older master guitars and some rare antique guitars too- enquire please. I also look to buy outright fine master guitars- contact me with what you have for sale please.

Robert Bouchet, Paris, 1958, serial number: 60

Sourced in Paris, this guitar may have been Bouchet's own personal guitar. Bouchet guitars have been known to sell for huge amounts, this one being cypress is on offer now for a very good price. Enquire. The book Cahier d'Atelier- Robert Bouchet- facsimile of Bouchets' own handwritten / hand-drawn workshop notes, seems to describe this particular guitar exactly- I would venture to say that the notes were written while this particular guitar was being made, so closely does it follow Bouchet's text on guitar construction. The dates also correspond.

Condition

This guitar is made in cypress with a fine grained spruce table- 2 piece back, uncracked, photos shows some marking- these are grain configurations, the back is uncracked, with original finish, in near perfect original condition. The ribs are the same- Table in fine condition, finish original, unrepaired- there are 2 long cracks which run along the edge of the golpes, which I have chosen to leave unrepaired in the interests of originality. These can be repaired, which would be virtually invisible by virtue of the fact that the Golpe edge hides this- apart from these, the table is in fine condition. Action perfect- fingerboard good, pegs work well, a rare cypress example of this sought after makers work, only very few examples exist. There has been some suggestion that the guitar may have been Bouchet's personal guitar, but this would need to be verified. Handmade rosette, typical Bouchet from this period.

Please note: This is a 'commission' sale, and the guitar is not kept in my studio. It is with the current owner, and can be obtained by arrangement for trial /viewing at very short notice.
